Bert is the principal solicitor at Hilton-Wood Solicitors and started the firm in 2004.
He graduated from Deakin University with a Bachelor of Laws in 2000 and was admitted to legal practice the same year. Bert previously worked as a solicitor in Gippsland and in the community legal sector.
Prior to that Bert was a member of Victoria Police for 12 years and was a police prosecutor for 5 years.
Bert has experience in all areas of legal practice, but particularly he has vast experience in Criminal Law. He has acted as either prosecutor or defence lawyer in several thousand cases and has appeared in every jurisdiction in Victoria from the Magistrates to the Supreme Court. He also has experience in the New South Wales and the Federal jurisdictions.
Bert was educated locally at Mildura High School and is married to Fiona. They are empty nesters and live in Mildura.
Bert barracks for Hawthorn and thinks that the rock group KISS is the greatest thing to have ever happened.

Fiona went to Red Cliffs High School and holds a Bachelor of Arts (History and Sociology) from Deakin University. She has over fifteen years experience in conveyancing, and no problem is too hard for her.
Fiona has a diverse working background, having previously worked in the banking industry, state parliament, as well as being an elected councillor at Mildura Rural City Council from 2008 to 2012.
